NEW Kintsugi Moon Necklace
Kintsugi (or in Japanese, "golden joinery) is the art of repairing broken pieces of pottery with gold. Confused... keep reading! ;)
The first necklace of this series had a similar story. Shannon was hammering away at a silver disk, when the hammer dropped & caused an unintended oblong hammer mark. Quick thinking: add some gold! 'Cause gold makes everything better! The necklace & story was a big hit, so we decided to post it on our website as a permanent piece of jewelry.
This 'moon' is between the sizes of our Small & Medium Moons... so, it's like a smedium! It is 7/8 in diameter with a sweet little twinkle of 14k gold fill, which adds a fun pop of dimension. The sterling silver moon is oxidized, which allows the details to be accented with a darkening patina.
The piece can either be made in a 16" or 18" 14k gold fill chain. The piece is finished with a gold fill lobster clasp.
Please note that oxidized sterling silver is still pure sterling silver. It is a darkening patina that gives the jewelry a vintage look. Wear can happen over time but can be protected with proper care.
Please note that we use 14k gold fill because it is more durable than gold plate and more affordable than solid gold. Wear can happen over time but can be protected with proper care.
