NEW Agate Druzy Necklace

I am writing this description as Winter Storm Fern blows through Vermont, I am currently gazing out the window and watching gigantic snowflakes fall from the sky and accumulate quickly! 

This necklace feels like an appropriate one to write about today. The inspiration behind this piece is how important snow is to the ground below! Even though we cannot see it, the moisture will eventually penetrate into the ground to help our grass grow, our trees build big roots and encourage our flowers to bloom. So in the depth of winter, I like to think about what the snow will encourage once the temperatures change and spring is upon us. This Druzy agate is such a cool stone! I have had it in my collection for quite some time and knew I needed a really unique way to set it. At the top of the stone is a sparkly quartz druzy and towards the bottom of the stone is the gorgeous banding that happens with Agate. The top of the stone is bright white and the bottom agate is in shades of burnt orange, terracotta, peach and merlot. The stone has been set in sterling silver. A slight texture and cut has been placed above the stone to mimic the druzy sparkle at the crown. The stone is held in place by a 3/4 bezel and 3 prongs. The pendant is attached to 18" of sterling silver, textured, paperclip chain. The clasp is a lobster clasp at the back.
