Kintsugi Moon Necklace

Kintsugi (or in Japanese, "golden joinery) is the art of repairing broken pieces of pottery with gold. So, why are we talking about pottery in a jewelry post... keep reading!

The first necklace of this series had a similar story. Shannon was hammering away at a silver disk, when the hammer dropped & caused an unintended oblong hammer divit. Quick thinking: add some gold!

Moral of the story: Even amidst adversity, we can move through the hardships and come out changed, sometimes for the better. Our scars are reminders of our growth and strength.

The 'Moon' is 7/8 in diameter with a sweet little twinkle of 14k gold fill, which adds a fun pop of dimension. The sterling silver moon is oxidized**, which allows the details to be accented with a darkening patina.

The piece can either be made in a 16" or 18" 14k gold fill* chain. The piece is finished with a gold fill lobster clasp.

NEW! This necklace is now available with a sterling silver chain and shiny moon!

**Please note that oxidized sterling silver is still pure sterling silver. It is a darkening patina that gives the jewelry a vintage look. Wear can happen over time but can be protected with proper care.

*Please note that we use 14k gold fill because it is more durable than gold plate and more affordable than solid gold. Wear can happen over time but can be protected with proper care.
