NEW Amethyst Stacking Ring
My goal for each month is to create a few pieces of jewelry with birthstones / zodiac sign stones / gems associated with a season. This doesn’t mean that they have to be your birthstone to wear them - not at all - I just want to create a talisman associated with the season and the skies and the folks born amidst that time of the year.
I hope to expand on speaking of them and sharing metaphysical properties and energies that these gemstones bring to the table. My hope is that these pieces will resonate with some of you on a deeper level. I feel like now it is paramount to surround ourselves with things that matter and enhance our life.
First up is the bold and luscious Amethyst. It is associated with those born under the signs of Aquarius ♒️(January 20-February 19) and Pisces ♓️ (February 20-March 20).
As early as 25,000 B.C., archaeologists have discovered that Neolithic humans residing in Europe coveted Amethyst for its beauty and energetic properties. Over time Amethyst has not lost its allure, finding its way to ancient Egyptian beaded jewelry and amulets to Greek and Roman crowns and royal jewelry to one of the 12 primary birthstones that we know today.
Amethyst’s metaphysical properties include protection, purification and release of addictions. It can be helpful to those who struggle during meditation as it is believed to help still one’s thoughts and allow energy to move into a higher vibration. Its unique color ranges from pale lavender to a saturated royal purple. Its namesake and origin story is derived by Greek Mythology, where the god Bacchus pours the juice of grapes over a clear quartz to give Amethyst its vivid color. I have always been enchanted from Greek mythology, so for me, this story creates such a lovely image in my mind.
The center stone is a rose cut, vibrant, natural Amethyst. It has been set in a smooth sterling silver bezel. The Amethyst gemstone is perched on a hammered ring band and flanked with a asymmetrically hammered band (called our Branch Ring Band) and a beaded Bubble Ring Band. This is a three ring set.
Size 8.5. This stacking ring is one of a kind.
