NEW Aquamarine Pendant Necklace
My goal for each month is to create a few pieces of jewelry with birthstones / zodiac sign stones / gems associated with a season. This doesn’t mean that they have to be your birthstone to wear them - not at all - I just want to create a talisman associated with the season and the skies and the folks born amidst that time of the year.
I hope to expand on speaking of them and sharing metaphysical properties and energies that these gemstones bring to the table. My hope is that these pieces will resonate with some of you on a deeper level. I feel like now it is paramount to surround ourselves with things that matter and enhance our life.
Aquamarine, the gemstone of March! It is associated with those born under the signs of Pisces (February 20th-March 20th) and Aries (March 20th-April 20th). Archaeologists have discovered Aquamarine used in history as early as 500 B.C. in Ancient Greece. It was discovered in adornments of home (mosaics) and body (jewelry). In my studies of history and jewelry, I have come to wonder if Roman Glass was created by man to mimic the look of Aquamarine. But, the clarity of Aquamarine is unmatched in the creation of the glass. Aquamarine can oftentimes have inclusions (some mini rainbows!), this does not muddy the stone, in my opinion, it makes each one absolutely unique. It is truly a magnificent and breathtaking gem to behold. 🤩
Aquamarine’s metaphysical properties include enhancement of clear communication, offering a soothing and cooling feeling, ability to access deep emotions within the subconscious, and empowerment without force assisting those with hot flashes or those who are quick to anger. It should also be seen as an ally to those who heavily feel the weight of the world. It’s color comes in many jewel tones of blue green and is oftentimes very clear, so it makes sense that in Latin, Aquamarine translates to ‘water of the sea’. “In ancient lore, Aquamarine was believed to be a treasure of mermaids, and it was used as a talisman to bring good luck, fearlessness and protection to sailers.” -The Book of Stones. I say it’s a good stone of protection for all 🩵
