Daybreak Necklace

I am an avid hiker, who loves a good sunrise hike. But, to get to the summit for sunrise, you've got to make most of the trek in the pitch black. And, in my opinion, there is no more of an exciting time than when the sun starts to light up the darkest part of the day. The details of the deep woods come alive with chartreuse light. There is a softness to this time of day that I cannot even explain in words. Almost like the fog of when you first wake up; I see it as the earths in-between of night and day. This necklace is an expression of that feeling; when the dark veil of night lifts and the day emerges.

The half-moon pendant is patterned & oxidized* pure silver. The patterned chain & components are sterling silver. The gemstone, or charm, is wrapped in oxidized sterling silver. The gemstone in this necklace is a deep blue Labradorite. So deep in color, it is almost black. But if you move the gemstone back and forth, you will see a huge flash of chartreuse light up the stone. This is what reminds me of first light. So cool!! The stone is an elongated teardrop with slight faceting. The necklace is 19" in length (I can shorten it at your request), and it is finished with a lobster clasp. The charm is 2 3/4" x 1 3/4".

One-of-a-kind.

*Please note that oxidized sterling silver is still sterling silver. It just has a darkening patina that gives the jewelry a vintage look. Wear can happen over time but can be protected with proper care.
